Ifunanya Igbobi
Model and designer, Ifunanya Igbobi, has been growing in leaps and bounds since unveiling her label Weckx Designs last year. Her hunger for success is remarkable, and she has proved it in a short while.
According to her, “The artist in me comes alive once I put pen to paper and design”.The former Miss Fashion Nigeria, who began her career as a model, says, “As a model, there were times I wished dresses I put on were my works, but I am now in a position where I can make my own dresses”.
Igbobi said the designing business is best for people who love everything about creativity and how to look good. According to her, a designer must always pay attention to the body shape of a client when making clothes for them, adding, “I make dresses according to the body specification of my clients. I also ask for their favourite colours and then I suggest the ones that have their skin tone which bring out that glamour, and I love to use beads and jewelries to add beauty to my works. These are the little nuggets that make my work stand out and it has taken to a level I don’t expect in a short wile.”
Igbobi, who is looking to becoming a global brand, advises all young people interested in starting anything to believe in themselves, noting, “Once you don’t stop believing, you would achieve whatever you desire”.
